Extension One- video editing software

Extension One

Video Editing Software
We use Windows Live Moviemaker as our video editing software at school.

There are a number of reasons for this choice:
·         It is simple and easy to use
·         It is free
·         It supports a range of common video formats

There are many other video editing software packages. You are to choose two different programs and compare them with MovieMaker. Post your comparison on your blog.
Where possible show screen shots of the programs and include links to the sites reviewing them. Any prices should be in Australian dollars and look for the licence conditions.

1)  WAX

Wax is a high performance and flexible video compositing and special effects software. The idea for Wax is to be very general purpose and flexible in video compositing and effects, so that you can compose your dream video sequence with ease everytime.
Wax can create 2D & 3D special effects and can work in two modes. WAX comnpared to movie maker allows the useser to use many different effects when owrking with different video formats. Wax is more complicated compared with movie maker but the results demonstate class. Wax is a free software like movie maker but Wax allows uses to download different plufins for free.

2) VirtualDub
VirtualDub is a video capture/processing utility for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms It lacks the editing power of a general-purpose editor such as Adobe Premiere or movie maker, but is streamlined for fast linear operations over video. Compared to movie maker virtualdub is focused on on sections of editing movie where as movie maker is multi purpose.
