1st Post about Audio waves ( What is digital sound)

This is my first post for our new topic in term 2.
Question 1 - Sound movies through what medium?

Question 2- What unit is used to measure sample size?
Sample format or sample size: Essentially this is the number of digits in the digital representation of each sample. Think of the sample rate as the horizontal precision of the digital waveform, and the sample format as the vertical precision. An audio CD has a precision of 16 bits, which corresponds to about 5 decimal digits.

Question 3- what unit is used to measure sample rate?
Sample rate: The rate at which the samples are captured or played back, measured in Hertz (Hz), or samples per second. An audio CD has a sample rate of 44,100 Hz, often written as 44 KHz for short. This is also the default sample rate that Audacity uses, because audio CDs are so prevalent.

FINSHED!!!!

Today i have finished my presentation. It is such a achievement to finallllyyy finish my animation. I believe that this task and animation assessement was overall a fun and interesting topic. I really enjoyed to topic.

Task 3

What image format did you save your frames as?
 PNG format.

What frame rate were you aiming for?
My frame rate in the end was 0.20 for the first section on the animation and then 0.30 seconds for the second part of the animation.

What is the final size of your animation?

What difficulties did you encounter and how did you overcome them?
The problems that occurred during the process of creating my animation was that I couldn’t find any motivation to start the assessment. During the period of the 6 weeks I believe I had many ideas and had a lot of resources to start my animation but the plan would never work or would be to hard and the animation would not come out smooth enough.  I believe that I had 6-10 ideas that I wanted to do for my animation but I never completed any of those ideas. The 2nd last week of the animation i was told it was due next week. I panicked and I combined all my initial ideas the create my finished product.
While creating the animation there was numerous times where I would export it as a selection instead of the page which resorted me to go back and delete all the exported images that were wrong and start again. Luckily I only had to change to picture.

Digital Art……….Real Art?

http://artpad.art.com/artpad/painter/ - I  created a digital art on artpad. I like the fact that you could control what you could draw. for example changing the paint colour and the thickness of the paint brush. This application also allowed me to use other images from a file or from there own gallery. I loved this task because i was able to create my own drawing with no modifications.

2. What is a vector based image and how is it different to a bitmap based image.

Images generally contain well-defined elements such as curves and shapes of various colors. These elements can either be pure graphics, western alphabets or Asian characters. In contrast, a vector image is defined mathematically using lines and curves. It’s not made up of pixels like a bitmapped image is.

Compared with bitmap; Each bitmap-based image is mapped into a grid. The size of the grid is based on the image's resolution.A bitmapped image is an image made up of pixels – for example, a JPEG photo from a digital camera or a GIF image in a web page. Bitmapped images are great for storing real-world images, such as photos, that can’t easily be mathematically defined. The main disadvantages of bitmapped images are their large file size and the fact that they can’t be scaled bits”.

Image file types

Graphical Interchange Format File
Image file that may contain up to 256 indexed colors; color palette may be a predefined set of colors or may be adapted to the colors in the image; lossless format, meaning the clearness of the image is not compromised with GIF compression.

GIFs are common format for Web graphics, especially small images and images that contain text, such as navigation buttons.

GIF images can also be animated and saved as "animated GIFs," which are often used to display basic animations on websites. They may also include transparent pixels, which allow them to blend with different color backgrounds.

What image format were you saving your work in during development of the frames?

What image format were you saving your work in during development of the frames?
I saved my images in a PNG format instead of saving it as a GIF image. Saving the frames as a PNG file made it easier
